Hydrology and water resources

It is a leading national high-tech enterprise with independent intellectual property rights and a national specialized and special new little giant enterprise, and is a professional provider of water sensing products and solutions.

Background and pain points

In the field of hydrology and hydraulics, accurate flow measurement is essential for the management and monitoring of water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Traditional flow measurement methods have the following pain points in practical applications:

Large environmental impact: The traditional flowmeter is greatly affected by environmental conditions, especially in the water body with a lot of sediment and floating objects, and the measurement accuracy is unstable.

Cumbersome maintenance: Many traditional flow measurement devices require regular maintenance and calibration, especially in harsh environments, where maintenance is cumbersome and costly.

Complex installation: The installation and adjustment of traditional equipment often requires a high level of technical proficiency and is difficult to operate in difficult terrain or deep water areas.

Poor real-time performance: Traditional methods have a long data acquisition cycle and cannot provide real-time traffic data, which affects decision-making efficiency.

Overview & Architecture

The ultrasonic time-of-flight flow measurement system of Hangzheng Technology accurately measures the water flow rate through the propagation time difference of the ultrasonic signal, which is suitable for all kinds of water bodies in the field of hydrology and water conservancy. The system scheme architecture is as follows:

Ultrasonic sensor: The device includes a transmitter and a receiver, which are respectively installed on both sides of the water body or at different heights, and measure the water flow rate through ultrasonic signals.

Signal processing unit: receives data from ultrasonic sensors, calculates the propagation time difference of ultrasonic signals, and calculates the water flow rate based on this time difference.

Data transmission module: transmits the processed traffic data to the data management platform in real time through wireless or wired network.

Data processing and analysis platform: real-time processing, storage, and analysis of flow data to support hydrological analysis.

Monitoring and early warning system: Provides a real-time monitoring interface, generates traffic change reports based on data analysis results, and issues early warnings when abnormal conditions occur.

Features & Benefits

High-precision measurement: The ultrasonic time-of-flight method calculates the flow rate by measuring the propagation time difference of the ultrasonic signal, and has a high measurement accuracy, usually within ±1%.

Non-contact measurement: It avoids the influence of environmental pollution, sediment accumulation and other factors on the equipment in traditional methods, and reduces the need for maintenance.

Real-time data acquisition: The system can provide real-time flow data to help understand water changes in a timely manner and support water decision-making.

Simple installation and operation: Ultrasonic flow meters are relatively simple to install and operate, allowing for flexible deployment in different terrains and water bodies.

Widely applicable: It is suitable for flow measurement of various water bodies such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs, etc., without the interference of water pollutants and sediments.
